Sodrel Calls for Earmark Reform

(Jeffersonville, IN) – Congressional Candidate Mike Sodrel issued the following statement today in support of a one-year moratorium on earmark requests.  

“The American people have lost faith in the way their government spends their hard earned tax dollars.  I join my Republican friends in the House in calling for a one-year moratorium on all earmark requests until the system can be reformed.

“Congress has a duty to be a good steward of its resources and the earmark system is no exception.  Earmarks can be beneficial when much needed dollars are sent to local communities, but the system needs to be fair, responsible, and transparent.”
